Cat6 has an “Uncontrollable Urge”

February 19th, 2014 · No Comments · Music

On February 18th, 2014 we received the news of the passing of Devo founding guitarist, Bob “Bob2″ Casale. Here at Cat6 we’d like to send out our condolences to Bob2′s family and friends. Anyone who’s been to the State Fair Affair knows Cat6 likes music. We have live guitarists at every race announcing our Ninja Primes in Cat6 style. One year, on a Lux Interior Memorial Ride, we caught up with an impromptu Brian Setzer plays Buddy Holly concert at Lee’s Liquor Lounge. If you’re at a Rev. Horton Heat show in Minneapolis, you’ll see Cat6ers. The 5:00a.m. wake-up music to ride the Trek 100 in Waterloo, WI was Devo’s version of “Satisfaction (I can’t get me no)”. So when Bob the Brewer heard the news of Bob2′s passing, he responded, “Bummer. Now I have an uncontrollable urge.”

Eno, 1973In 1978, Brian Eno produced Devo’s debut album, “Q: Are We Not Men? A: We Are Devo!”. Yeah, this Brian Eno (circa 1973 Roxy Music):

So while the weather is great for skiing and ice fishing right now, think about cleaning up your bike for a ride, go to a Minnesota Craft Brewers Guild brewery and get a locally made beer, then go see a live band. RIP Bob2. Thanks for all the kick-ass rock’n'roll.
