Race Competitions

Ninja Primes!

Can’t win a called prime at the local criterium? Neither can Cat6. Not wanting to miss out on the potential glorious crossing the Finish line first photo opportunity, for years, Cat6ers have been sprinting for the line on laps when it just doesn’t matter — the Ninja Prime. Now we’re race promoters, and everyone has an opportunity race Sixy. How do you win a Ninja Prime? Cross the finish line first. How do you know what laps Ninja Primes are called? You don’t. Only the MC and the Officials know. How do you know when you’ve won a Ninja Prime? The very loud sound of a guitar is your first indication, while the MC will let you know. It’s the essence of racing — be at the front, and win. What do you win? If you’re of age, a growler of locally brewed tasty goodness. If you’re too young to enjoy the fruits of our local brewmasters’ labors, we have gift certificates from our sponsoring bike shop, the Angry Catfish Bicycle + Coffee Bar.

Race Finish

Merchandise awards will be given out for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places across the finish line as the race Officials call it, for all combined fields — not separate categories. Prizes will be awarded in the following races: Women 4, Women Pro/1/2/3, Pro/1/2/3 Men, 4/5 Men, 3/4 Men. First Place will receive an Angry Catfish Bicycle + Coffee Bar gift certificate.

General Classification (GC) Series for Individuals

We will be tracking the Total Time Back to the winning time, minus Time bonus primes for determining the Series leaders. The following races will have an Individual GC competition: Women 4, Women Pro/1/2/3, Pro/1/2/3 Men, 4/5 Men, 3/4 Men

    Mid-race Time Bonuses (sec): 5, 3, 1
    Finish Time Bonuses: 15, 10, 7, 5, 3

Timing gaps will be determined by the Officials. Those finishing in the same group will receive the same time, minus any time bonuses per position as listed above.
An example of a gap at 20 mph is approximately 29 feet, or about 5 bike lengths. At 30 mph, that goes up to 44 feet, or a little more than 7 bike lengths. Officials have the final determination of timing gaps.
30 min race = 2 primes + finish; 40 min race = 2 primes + finish; 50 min race = 3 primes + finish.
NOTE: Subject to change due to weather or lighting conditions on the course
Lapped riders and riders pulled by an Official will be assigned a time. On the 17th and 24th races, leaders in the GC competition will be required to wear the Angry Catfish / Kramarczuk Sausage Co. Leaderhosen, which will be provided to leaders at Registration. A cheap sport coat and a Kramarczuk Sausage Co. gift certificate to the winners.

GC Series for Teams

We will take the top 3 times from each Team to determine a Series Team General Classification. Times will be the Total Adjusted Time Back from the winning time — after Officials determine time gaps — not the Assigned Time (Adjusted Time minus Time bonus primes). Series winning time will be the best of 3 events. Teams who do not compete with a minimum of 2 riders in at least 2 of the 3 events will not qualify for the GC Team Competitions. Teams do not have to sign up for the Team competition — it will be determined automatically. Racers must have their Team and/or Club declared on their USAC license. For the Team Competitions, a rider’s USAC Club will be used. Clubs must be registered and active with USAC. No more than one Team per Club. If a Club has multiple Teams, all will be racing for their Club and considered a single Team. All riders of a given Team shall wear identical jerseys. Individual racers are not required to participate in all races. Team competition is for the following races: Women 4, Women Pro/1/2/3, Pro/1/2/3 Men, 4/5 Men, 3/4 Men. Day Licensed racers are not eligible for the Team competition. Town Hall Brewery gift certificate to the winning Teams.

Nightly Team

On all evenings, combined fields Team competition will take top 3 times from each Team. Same restrictions as the GC Series for Teams. Prize is a Giggles’ Campfire Grill gift certificate.

Fastest Lap

Fastest Lap per race. Prize is a Giggles’ Campfire Grill gift certificate.

Most Aggressive

Most laps at the front. Ties determined by finish position, with best finisher winning tie-breaker. Prize is a Giggles’ Campfire Grill gift certificate.
